Price Family

Hi All,

I have few questions about Price Family. Kindly need your help in answering this.

1. What is the difference between the master article and the reference article?  In our example we have a style as the master article and then we picked one of the variants to be the reference article.  What does each do?
2. I presume I can’t have the same variant article in 2 or more price group families…meaning I couldn’t have 22400589 in TEST A and TEST B?
3. When you enter the articles in the Group do the variant articles have to be part of the generic…meaning if i entered 11028801 as the master article in Family group A, then i entered variants.  Do those variants have to be assigned to the style or can they be any variant?
4. As new variants get created/adopted in SAP how do they get added to a price family?  Is there any automation or would the business have to go into the family Group and add new variants each time as they get created?
5. Are the articles always priced using the PRFAM tool and clicking on the Price Calculation or can user go to VKP5 and somehow price there?
