AFS Material Master Field Change

Hi Experts,

                 when we created material master for AFS  material master, we didn't activate the Grid val as batch no field in AFS MRP tab.I want to activate that field.But Once we enable that  Afs MRp status,we can't make changes in that.

Is there any way to activate the field?

We  need to activate the field.

Because whenever we are doing plant transfer using movement type(301),Batch number is taking as numeric value for receiving plant.I want in a format like grid value and batch no .should be same.
